Here's a report on a threat to the Chinese communist regime that's risen from the past. The opening sentence is priceless:

"Inalienable," huh? That kind of absolutist language is typical of authoritarian governments, and for good reason. Their political control over their subject population is not to be questioned, and the territory over which they rule is -- what's the word I'm looking for? Oh, yeah -- "indivisible." A government that derives its authority through the consent of the governed, on the other hand, can be altered or abolished by the people. And that sort of thing cannot be allowed in Red China.

Yeah. Pity those poor, helpless Chinese.

Anyway, the threat from the past to Communist rule in China comes from evidence that non-Chinese peoples once predominated in the Xinjiang province. And the descendents of those people are increasingly feeling forbidden pride in a unique cultural heritage:

Uighur nationalists have gleaned evidence from mummies, whose corpses span thousands of years, to support historical claims to the region. Foreign scholars say that at the very least, the Tarim mummies seem to indicate the very first people to settle the area came from the west - down from the steppes of Central Asia and even farther afield - and not from the plains and river valleys of Chinese interior.

The 21st century will be defined by the abandonment of super-sized ideologicial regimes and the resurgence of smaller, culturally based political units. Not even the last totalitarian regime is immune. To which we say, it's about time.

See what just happened? In a piece scourging the Pentagon's wasteful, counter-productive policy they cluelessly call "surgical strikes," the author just illustrated how to pull off the real thing. That Fred!

One last chance to fight for our Constitution

Now here's something interesting:

Former Deputy Attorney General Philip Berg filed a lawsuit addressing the citizenship status of Barack Obama before the Democratic National Convention and copied Democratic Chairman Howard Dean. It should have alerted them that there was a possible problem before they selected their nominee. But that problem was ignored. Other lawsuits filed before Nov. 4 were also ignored, placing us in what could be a constitutional crisis.

The good news is the real election hasn't taken place yet. The Electoral College doesn't meet until Dec. 15. That gives us less than a month to find the answers to the looming questions regarding whether Barack Obama meets the constitutional requirements for the office of president.

And the plot gets thicker. Check out Craig Roberts's speculations on this:

What if all of this issue about Obama not being a natural born US citizen is designed to do exactly what the cabal wants? That is, at the last minute, have him disqualified as President-elect? What would this do? Maybe start riots? A race war?

This would cause a national emergency not seen since 1860. We are an armed society and a powder keg. The economy is in the toilet, the stock market is a corpse barely floating on a stagnant river, the auto industry on the verge of going belly up, people losing their houses, etc. Add to this the Supreme Court deciding Obama can't serve as President and we have the ingredients for a civil war. Such a scenario could call for the use of UN troops to police our streets since all our active and reserve forces are overseas and no one of significant force is home to deal with such a situation.

The globalist could step in "to help us and to peace keep" and the end result would be forced disarmament of US citizens, compartmentalization of the population to relocation centers "for our own protection" and other dire events that would basically destroy this country in a swift manner never before anticipated. All the legal mechanisms in both civil and military government are in place to do exactly this. I was serving when JAG officers from all services were called to Ft Bragg to determine how to get around Posse Comitatus, and after a week, they said they had a means to do so. This was during the Clinton regime. Canada and Mexico both have signed mutual aid agreements using their militaries with the U.S. since "Katrina." Russians and former Warsaw Pact forces have been trained at Fort Polk on a US combat town (Operation Cooperative Nugget) for UN deployment scenarios. There's more, but the point is too many intel idicators point to bad things.

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you want, but trying to look into the cloudy crystal ball of the intel community to forecast the future is what I did for 14 years.

America’s Moronic Iraq Policy Means More Muslim Immigration

It's not just the ruinous costs of the Iraqi Conquest that's hurting us. Paul Craig Roberts is even more concerned about the demographic upheaval -- the millions of Iraqis who've been displaced by the US-led chaos in that country will have to go somewhere, and what more likely place could that be than here? That, warns Roberts, will be an even greater disaster for us:

Even these costs might be small if an article by Richard LaMountain in the November 2008 Middle American News is accurate. According to LaMountain, US refugee programs for Iraqis displaced by the US invasion and occupation could result in a large and growing Muslim US population. These would be people whose lives were adversely impacted by the US invasion of Iraq.

If the US maintains its pro-Israeli stance against Arabs and Muslims generally, the implications of a growing Muslim population and a government obsessed with its "war on terror" are frightening for American civil liberty. In order to contain the potential terror that it will have imported, Washington would impose a total police state. We will have our own Saddam Hussein.

Uh-oh. Even though his term is up, Bush's poodle could face some difficulties for supporting Bush's disastrous war:

Legal advice given to Tony Blair by the attorney general prior to the Iraq war was fundamentally "flawed," a former law lord has claimed.

Lord Bingham said Lord Goldsmith had given Mr Blair "no hard evidence" that Iraq had defied UN resolutions "in a manner justifying resort to force".

Therefore, the action by the UK and US was "a serious violation of international law," Lord Bingham added.

What kind of difficulties? These kind:

But Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg said Lord Bingham's claims made a full public inquiry into the government's decision to go to war "unavoidable".

"Lord Bingham's stature means that his devastating criticism cannot just be brushed under the carpet," Mr Clegg said.

"This is a damning condemnation of what was an unjustified invasion which we now know to have flouted international law."

The precedent for the US could be devastating. This bears close watching.

Taliban threaten Paris attacks

Here's a new twist in the always-evolving field of insurgency strategy: Invading armies will not only be attacked when they barge into areas where they're not invited, but their homelands will be subject to retribution, too:

The Taliban threatened to launch attacks in Paris unless France withdraws from Afghanistan, in a video aired by Al Arabiya television on Monday. ...

"We have killed 10 French soldiers today as a message to the French so that they rectify their mistakes and withdraw from Afghanistan, and if they don't they will hear our response in Paris," said Mullah Farouq, identified as the commander of the unit that raided the French troops, on the video.

This is just the latest indication how the old model of empire no longer works. We already know it's not a viable economic model anymore. Now we see graphic proof that it's not a reliable means of enhancing security; in fact, as this story illustrates, it has the reverse effect. Just about any Western country will have immigrants from some Third-World country who'd serve as a ready-made counter-invasion force if called upon.

And as 9/11 taught us -- or at least, as it taught some of us -- resident alien populations may live among us, but their loyalty lives elsewhere.

Neocon chickens coming home to roost ...

... and many of our formerly enthusiastic cheerleaders for authoritarian liberation are stuck under those roosts, with no umbrella to shield them. Michelle Malkin, to name one example, is horrified at homosexual activists determined to bypass popular will to impose same-sex "marriage" in California, condemning those activists as "unhinged" as they loudly (even violently) protest the Mormon church and other supporters of Proposition 8. And here's one champion of universal rights in Iraq sputtering about how the homosexual lobby is "straining" the concept of equal rights. Priceless!

Odd, but the homosexual agenda doesn't see it as a "strain" at all; indeed, they interpret equal rights for homosexuals as the natural progression of the civil rights movement -- and aren't the least bit shy about blasting opponents of same-sex "marriage" as exponents of "hate":

Can you hear it? It is the Grand Rule of Bigotry, same as it ever was: Prejudice and fanaticism tend to yell loudest and cling on the hardest when they are most threatened, when they know their worldview is slated for imminent demolition.

Just look. As I write these very words, big-money ultraconservatives are joining churches and temples and sad, sad priests nationwide in extolling their fearful throngs to send huge portions of their life savings straight to the gaggle of pro-Prop. 8 extortionists, in an attempt to ban gay marriage and crush what essentially amounts to a type of love they cannot, will not understand it.

Those words must sting, seeing as how the bloggers linked above once cheered on the invasion of Iraq in the name of Bush's proclaimed principles of "universal liberty" and "the equality and dignity of all people."

Some of the more frenzied war supporters delighted in brandishing "equality" as a noble cover for their fun little war:

Egalitarianism? Absolute! Belief in human equality especially with respect to social, political, and economic rights and privileges is an all American tradition. Great Satan doesn't have apartheid, holy blood lines, untouchable castes, tribal affiliation, sacred turf or the enslaved. Great Satan does have an amazing lack of sympathy for nation states that who would promote them - and often utterly destroys (including one especial sucessionary confederation) [He meant "secessionary," as in the South -- a favorite target of State-worshippers -- webmaster] that are jazzed about such played, failed, ammoral, immoral and retarded - in the classic sense too - wicked regimes.

Now, the few war supporters I've heard from on this embarrassing topic say something along the lines of, "Oh, we didn't mean 'equality' for homosexuals." Sorry, but that's the danger of wielding universal abstractions - they're intended to be applied everywhere. Andrew Sullivan, who's worked himself into a lavender rage about Prop 8, and is daily highlighting the effort to have the courts impose same-sex "marriage" on Californians, also welcomed the invasion of Iraq as the beginning of a global war of liberation for homosexuals. Can we blame him for expecting a little consistency?

I would tell those former Neocon enablers they should've been a little more far-sighted when they jumped on the warwagon of Iraq "liberation," but frankly, I'm enjoying watching them cook in the boiling water they helped draw. Besides, they didn't pay much mind to those of us who warned that the Neocon battle cry of global "creative destruction" didn't just apply to Muslims, but to our traditional culture as well. The ideology of "universal rights" is a sledgehammer designed and used for destroying traditional society and expanding the power of the central government to advance equality by force. That's why the charge of "hate" is hurled at those who resist reconstruction. And that's why Big Government proponents of all stripes, from leftists like Christopher Hitchens and Hillary Clinton, to rightists like Cal Thomas and Dick Cheney, rapturously embraced the Neocon Wars.

You made your bed, war bloggers. Sleep in it. And don't blame us for your bad dreams.

A surreal scientific blunder last week raised a huge question mark about the temperature records that underpin the worldwide alarm over global warming. On Monday, Nasa's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), which is run by Al Gore's chief scientific ally, Dr James Hansen, and is one of four bodies responsible for monitoring global temperatures, announced that last month was the hottest October on record.

Oopsies. Guess we'll have to un-do all those new regulations, right? Right.

Bracing for the Obama backlash

There's some mean chickens coming home to roost these days. It's a shock to some, as they wake up to the consequences of policies they once enthusiastically supported. The concentration of executive power in DC is most clearly in focus these days, thanks to the successful presidential run of an ambitious leftist. We've noted previously (see here and here) how Obama's coming to power is not anything new, but the natural trajectory of an out-of-control, globalist political system at war with its subject population.

This article notes how the spreading shock of an untried, hard-left activist in the White House is transforming the political arena and making people more open to strategies and goals once considered inconceivable:

The League of the South, a secessionist group, says Web hits jumped from 50,000 a month to 300,000 since Nov. 4, and its phones are ringing off the hook.

While we appreciate the attention, the Christian Science Monitor article reporting on the new interest in the League isn't exactly what we'd want -- check out the screaming headline, and that unsavory character in the accompanying photo -- but, as they say in Tinsel Town, just spell the name right.

And it's always nice to see your vision of locally based, human-scaled self-government accurately portrayed:

But for nonviolent secessionist groups like the League of the South, the hope is for a more vigorous debate about the direction of the US and the South's role in it, says Michael Tuggle, a League blogger in North Carolina.

Mr. Tuggle says his group isn't looking for an 1860-style secession but, rather, a model that Spain, for one, is moving toward, in which "there's a great deal of autonomy for constituent regions" – a foil to what is seen as unchecked, dangerous federal power in Washington.

"To a lot of people, the idea of secession doesn't seem so crazy anymore," says Tuggle. "People are talking about how left out they feel, ... and they feel that something strange and radical has taken over our country."

500K illegal immigrants defying deportation orders

White powder sent to Mormon temples in Utah, LA

Two words for the following: homosexual terrorism:

Letters containing a suspicious white powder were sent Thursday to Mormon temples in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City that were the sites of protests against the church's support of California's gay marriage ban.

The temple in the Westwood area of Los Angeles was evacuated before a hazardous materials crew determined the envelope's contents were not toxic, said FBI spokesman Jason Pack.

The temple in downtown Salt Lake City, where the church is based, received a similar envelope containing a white powder that spilled onto a clerk's hand.

The room was decontaminated and the envelope taken by the FBI for testing. The clerk showed no signs of illness, but the scare shut down a building at Temple Square for more than an hour, said Scott Freitag, a spokesman for the Salt Lake City Fire Department.

Who wants to bet how much coverage this would've gotten if the victims and perps were reversed? Hmmm?

And here's a tougher question: Since blacks in California voted for Prop 9 in greater proportions than whites, you have to wonder why the Castro Street terrorists aren't taking out their anger on black churches.

UPDATE: Blacks soundly rejected the homosexual agenda in Florida, too. It's official: we have ourselves a trend.

No more private school, Nepal's Maoist government declares

Here's the ultimate solution for those who insist on government indoctrination schooling for all:

The massive election win last April by Nepal's former rebel Maoists put them in the position to set the government agenda, and bring about drastic changes they promised during their campaign.

But their initial proposals on education – to end private investment in schools and distribute academic certificates to Maoist fighters – have left many Nepalese worried.

They're concerned that their new government will take the country in too radical a direction that favors its former fighters and Marxist-Leninist-Maoist ideology.

And that most faux of faux "conservatives," Andrew Sullivan, is cheering on the protests as a demand for extending "a traditional institution" to homosexuals.

Who's to say Sullivan is full of you-know-what for labeling "same-sex" marriage as a conservative value? We've had 8 years of post-Trotskyite propaganda assuring a gullible public that mindless obedience to an all-powerful government that's forcing globalism on our nation is the essense of "real" conservatism. So if the word "conservative" has been uprooted from its original meaning to now mean its opposite, why can't the homosexual lobby give it their own definition?

And if you have the stomach to check out Sullivan's site, don't miss the graphic equating failure to support the homosexual agenda with "hate." As we've repeatedly pointed out, the accusation of "hate" is flung at anyone who dissents from the big-government, globalist agenda that seeks to destroy organic, traditional society and replace it with a more egalitarian, structured society. The homosexual agenda is just one part of that agenda, and they see Obama's victory as their chance to win, and win big.

US immigrant groups to march a day after Obama takes over

Isn't it nice of these folks to remind Obama of his campaign promises? How helpful:

Immigrant rights organizations have called for a major march on Washington on January 21, the day after Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th US president.

Defenders and advocates of tens of millions of immigrants will take to the streets to press their case for immigration reform and remind Obama of one of the policy planks he plugged on the campaign stump as he wooed the Hispanic vote.

Of course, it was George W. Bush who greased the skids by pushing his amnesty bill for illegal alien invaders back in the summer of 2007. He almost made it.

The globalists don't care what brand is used as cover for their agenda, as long as it passes. Bush narrowly failed with his bizarre appeal to border security and family values; now it's Obama's turn to promote it under the label of civil rights.

In this bad economy, any new career choice is worth looking into. But there might be problems for those who belong to churches that only appoint male heterosexuals, or who own guns:

Wrong priorities, wrong question!

This morning, NPR reported on a glum gathering of Republican governors exploring possible ways they can salvage their party and reclaim power in the new, multicult America. You'll never guess what their answer was.

Utah's Gov. Huntsman said Republicans must "embrace" the change that's transforming America. Otherwise, he warns,

"... a party that has trouble reaching Hispanics, women and African-Americans is doomed to permanent minority status.

"And if we're not able to identify the changing demographic in this country and the needs of that changing demographic in terms of the issues that really matter — education and health care and quality of life and jobs — then we're going to lose, and we're going to keep losing big-time," Huntsman said.

Enough of him. Here's Ron Paul posing the right question and the right answer:

Now, in light of the election, many are asking: What is the future of the Republican Party?

But that is the wrong question. The proper question should be: Where is our country heading? There's no doubt that a large majority of Americans believe we're on the wrong track.

Exactly. Who cares about saving the Republican party? The question that should've concerned Huntsman and the other GOP governors was, "How did the Republican party fail to meet the needs of the vast majority of Americans?" Instead, all he and his fellow politicos care about is propping up their hold on the money-and-power machine that is DC. As Ron Paul concludes:

In the rise and fall of the recent Republican reign of power these past decades, the goal of the party had grown to be only that of gaining and maintaining power – with total sacrifice of the original Republican belief in shrinking the size of government.

Right again. Instead of assuming the demographic transformation of America is some unstoppable, natural phenomenon, true representatives of the people should assume the rightness and value of fighting to preserve our civilization and way of life. Why not instead determine how best to champion traditional America, the real America, and promote its people, its culture, and its future? And whatever tactics are chosen, the first step must begin with realizing that the unnatural concentration of power in DC is the instrument that has been used to effect that transformation. The American people didn't want it, but the Third-World makeover of their nation is being forced upon them by lying, grasping politicians.

Someone's going to eventually rise up and take the role of champion for the besieged majority. And increasingly, I doubt it's going to be the party of Lincoln.

Those intolerant agitators for tolerance

There's no group, possibly excepting MS-13 and the Mafia, that fights dirtier than the multicult left. No one else matches their ruthlessness. And all the while they're aiming for their victim's vital organs, they're screaming at the top of their lungs that their target is the intolerant one.

Here are a couple of recent examples. WARNING: You need to take your anti-gagging meds and remove spillable liquids from the computer before you start reading, lest you splash your keyboard as you sicken, then convulse in laughter at the following.

We'll start here in North Carolina, where four students at NC State in Raleigh are in heap big trouble for spraying "racist, anti-Obama" grafitti on the "free-speech" tunnel on campus. The NAACP demands their scalps:

NC NAACP President Rev. William Barber brought a list of demands to the table. He wants an official response within 48 hours.

He said the university won't name four students responsible for racist graffiti sprayed on the school's free expression wall after Barack Obama won the presidential election.

"But the students said even if there are Federal laws that prohibit them from knowing who they are, they should not be allowed on this campus," Barber said. "And we of the NAACP agree that they should be expelled."

The Secret Service investigated the incident, which included a racial slur. Agents determined it was not a credible threat against the president elect.

Why should the corrupt, bloated, arrogant NAACP target four foolish college students, possibly ruining their careers? Because "race-based" grafitti, you see, will somehow transform docile students into a lynch mob that will take over the campus. The NAACP dismisses the Secret Service's conclusions. As the article continues:

The group that met Tuesday disagrees.

"And, it is a race based threat of violence against his supporters," said Al McSurely, NAACP attorney. "Students in the meeting today said they were afraid to wear their Obama buttons and celebrate the next day, because of these threats."

Right. I'm sure the 99.9% of students who supported Obama are cowering in the shadows because of that now-erased grafitti, and have hidden their Obama buttons lest their terrible secret is discovered by -- the eeeevil ones.

Compare the damage done by the four spray-painting numbskulls at NC State with what Crystal Gail Mangum did at nearby Duke University. Her statements -- all lies -- almost ruined the lives of several innocent young men, and managed to get the lacrosse coach, Mike Pressler, to resign. And talk about a statement that incites the crazies! The "hang 'em high!" proclamation from the 88 faculty members assumed the white boys were guilty, and demanded their punishment -- due process and evidence be damned.

Here's another example of the left's policy of no quarter in battle. Seems a Mormon who worked in the Sacramento theatre donated money to California's Proposition 8, which affirmed traditional marriage. His hide has now been nailed to the Homosexual Agenda's barn door:

Scott Eckern, the Sacramento theater director whose political donation in support of California's Prop. 8 ban on same-sex marriage has become a lightning rod in the debate over gay rights, resigned today. He said he wanted to protect the California Musical Theatre, his artistic home since 1984, from further controversy.

Ever wonder why the former land of the free and the home of the brave is now the land of the fearful and home of the silent? It's because the multicults are enjoying their new-found power. And it looks like they're not afraid to use it.

Palin the unprincipled

Let's see if I have this straight -- the Alaska governor who openly supported the small-government, secessionist Alaskan Independence Party instantly switched gears and glibly praised the Iraq occupation as "a task that is from God" when offered a shot at the vice-presidency.

And now she tells Wolf Blitzer she'd be "honored to help Obama" -- despite Obama's past associations with a domestic terrorist, which she once claimed made Obama unsuitable as a candidate for president.

Boy, one whiff of that DC power musk, and people just go nuts. Power is obviously Palin's drug of choice, and she just needs a little snort to tide her over.

Meet the new boss

It's really a hoot watching the more naive elements of both the anti- and pro-war factions react to President Obama as he tests his grip on the levers of power. Both groups see the Great One as a card-carrying peacenik, and are stupified by any actions not consistent with disarmament/surrender, depending on the point of view.

Ok, it's time to shake off the fantasies. Pay attention, folks, 'cause here's how it is: Obama is a politician. Even worse, he is a smart politician. The first statement can be translated as, "He relishes power" and the second one as, "And he knows how to get it." From those premises we can draw the conclusion that he ain't about to surrender that hard-earned power.

A few cases in point. Who's at the top of the list for Obama's Secretary of Defense? If you guessed Jane Fonda, you're one of the people I referred to as naive in the opening sentence. No, it's George W. Bush's SecDef, Robert Gates. Now why, wonder the anti-warriors, would a lover of peace want to coopt one of the henchmen of that notorious war criminal, George W. Bush? Meanwhile, the pro-war, any war crowd is equally befuddled that a Surrendercrat like Obama would even consider continuing their strutting conqueror's policies. But surely, say the anti-war people, Obama will dismantle the proto-totalitarian machinery Bush and Cheney cobbled together during their regime? Guess again, folks:

President-elect Barack Obama is unlikely to radically overhaul controversial Bush administration intelligence policies, advisers say, an approach that is almost certain to create tension within the Democratic Party.

Civil-liberties groups were among those outraged that the White House sanctioned the use of harsh intelligence techniques -- which some consider torture -- by the Central Intelligence Agency, and expanded domestic spy powers. These groups are demanding quick action to reverse these policies.

Mr. Obama is being advised largely by a group of intelligence professionals, including some who have supported Republicans, and centrist former officials in the Clinton administration. They say he is likely to fill key intelligence posts with pragmatists.

Even the much-despised Guantanamo gulag isn't headed for quick closure, despite Obama's campaign promises. After all, you never know when a secret prison might come in handy ...

Obama, you may recall, has even promised he'd do "everything" to protect Israel, that "Middle Eastern" nation of European colonists whose political success justifies any and every sacrifice by the American people, not to mention the flexing of DC's military power in that ravaged region.

So meet the new boss, folks. Just like the old boss, only more so.

Mexico hopes to convince President-Elect Obama to embrace open migration

Hey, what's Spanish for chutzpah? The Mexican government's got it:

Mexican Secretary of Exterior Relations, Patricia Espinosa Cantellano, said that when Barak Obama becomes president, Mexico will reassert its contention that his agenda include an immigration agreement as a priority. In addition, other aspects of dialogue to be addressed are the fight against organized crime and the economic competitiveness with other regions. In a press conference, she assured that President Felipe Calderon is confident that with Obama’s presidency a migration agreement will finally be reached that permits both nations a flow of migration that is legal, safe and orderly. Espinosa also said that the Mexican government hopes the US president-elect changes his position on the construction of the border fence.

Yes, President Obama: forget the interests of the American people by ensuring border security, and protecting jobs and way of life. Instead, use the hard-earned resources of the American people to support what's best for the Mexican ruling elite, and right now, that would be taking in the excess number of poor Mexicans who can't scratch a living in the corrupt Mexican economy.

It's the least they could expect from a self-proclaimed citizen of the world.

For South, a Waning Hold on National Politics

Yes, traditional Southern issues have been not only ignored this election, but clearly snubbed. This illustrates all too vividly how we've lost national clout. The bottom line is that presidential candidates no longer have to concern themselves about broadening their appeal to the religious, conservative South, but can now win on secular, Northeastern liberalism:

Fear of the politician with the unusual name and look did not end with last Tuesday’s vote in this rural red swatch where buck heads and rifles hang on the wall. This corner of the Deep South still resonates with negative feelings about the race of President-elect Barack Obama.

What may have ended on Election Day, though, is the centrality of the South to national politics. By voting so emphatically for Senator John McCain over Mr. Obama — supporting him in some areas in even greater numbers than they did President Bush — voters from Texas to South Carolina and Kentucky may have marginalized their region for some time to come, political experts say.

I'd argue that what's been marginalized is DC, not the South. The rest of the country left us, not the other way around.

The real cause of the financial crisis

Who says our present (and expanding) Diversity Depression was sparked by the government's own affirmative action program for home ownership, qualifications be damned? Well, it's not just hopelessly eeeevil anti-egalitarians like Steve Sailer anymore. Here's the New York Times reporting on the train wreck back in 1999, when the trains were just chugging out of their stations:

In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.

The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets -- including the New York metropolitan region -- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring.

Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits.

But let's not put all the blame on the Clintons. Here's Steve Sailer again, this time documenting how Karl Rove and George W. Bush worked to reward Bush's Chosen People (Latinos) with home ownership they couldn't really afford. So the financial crisis is not simply the work of Democrats or Republicans, but the joint effort of DC, that is, Diversity City.

Demonizing dissent

Now that they're in power, the leftists are changing their tune about freedom of speech. The graphic above skewers Rush Limbaugh as a "Seditionist" whose dissent is somehow "running America into the ground." True, it's just one leftie, pro-O blogger, but the attitude reflects the history of how extremist parties behave once they've captured power -- they attack dissent as unpatriotic, even treasonous. The author's comments clearly illustrate those attitudes:

With the election over, Rush just can't wait to start destroying Obama and his adminisration before it is even in office. Bashing Rahm Emanuel as Chief of Staff even before he has a staff. Blaming Obama’s election for the decline of the Dow because people are afraid.

Yes, it's going to be a loooong eight years.

Protecting Democracy from the People

What does a liberal do when "the people" fail to advance the liberal agenda? Why, you have their voice muffled, that's what, and work to have their votes overturned by their handlers. At least, that's what these California liberals are trying to do:

More than one-third of California's lawmakers are adding their voices to the chorus calling on the state's highest court to overturn the prohibition on same-sex marriage approved by voters last week.

Forty-four members of the California Legislature filed a friend-of-the-court brief Monday in support of a lawsuit seeking to invalidate Proposition 8 on the grounds that voters did not have the authority to make such a dramatic change in state law.
The brief argues that the gay marriage ban improperly usurped the state Supreme Court's duty to protect minority groups from discrimination.

"Discrimination," as all regular readers of this blog know, is the term of condemnation for any expression of traditional values. On the other hand, permissible, government-approved decisions come under the hallowed name of "choice." That's why liberals have no problem using the iron fist of government coercion to protect "choice" and hammer down "discrimination."

Communists just love Obama

But don't take my word for it -- read for yourself what the lead editorial of the People's Weekly World had to say about CIC O:

Convinced by the power of one man’s arguments for hope, unity and change, his program and example, a 52 percent majority of voters rejected the old politics of fear, racism and red-baiting and elected Barack Obama the 44th president of the United States.

It's surely the truth when they say there'll be no more "red-baiting." Heck, instead of being an accusation, the word "socialist" will be a term of admiration. The new term used to condemn someone will be "conservative," or, if they're particularly rebellious against Beloved Leader, they'll be branded as a "Southerner."

Georgia congressman warns of Obama dictatorship

Distrust Obama's Chicago-San Fran-DC Axis? Well, you're not the only one:

Georgia Representative Paul Broun tapped into an undercurrent of public fear when he questioned what Barack Obama’s socialist-leanings may mean in the next administration. He warned of an “Obama dictatorship” and fears of a coming Marxists-socialist agenda based on Obama’s own recent statements, and compared his rapid ascension in troubled times to the circumstances which promoted Adolph Hitler from obscurity to elective office in Germany.

Mr. Broun isn't talking about imaginary fears, or rumor-filled speculation, but about facts:

Paul Broun most fears Obama’s proposal of a national civilian security force that would trump local law enforcement and local laws. Obama’s idea conjures up images of strong-arm tactics used in other socialist countries like Venezuela. Socialist governments in Central and South America have long used quasi-government militias to strong-arm political opponents. That happens to be a favored tactic of the liberation theology movement south of our border, of which Obama’s former church in Chicago is connected.

The idea is similar to that of his new Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, who has advocated for “universal citizen service.”

In a pre-emptive strike against conservative opposition to Emanuel's call for drafting the young into national service, his co-author noted that "[s]ome Republicans will squeal about individual freedom," and argued against any chance for individuals to opt out.

So I suppose any dissent from Obama's grandiose plans will get one labeled as an enemy of the people.
